College Composition and Research (English 101) is a class offered at Chillicothe High School. English 101 is offered as a dual-credit through both the high school and North Central Missouri College. As a student, I was assigned nine essays throughout the course of semester. The essays allowed follow the same process: pre-write, rough draft, peer edit, and final draft. The nine works differed in format and style, from descriptive narratives to informational summaries.

Instructor: Dr. Jill Watkins
Dr. Jill Watkins graduated from Trenton High School in Missouri. Watkins then earned a Bachelor of Science in English/Education from Missouri Western State University, a Masters of Education in Secondary Leadership and Administration from Northwest Missouri State University, an Educational Specialist in Superintendency from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Doctorate in Education from William Woods University. Soon after, in 1996, began her tenure in education. Throughout her career, Dr. Watkins has been a middle school and high school English Language Arts teacher, a secondary-level instructional coach, a secondary-level blended learning coach, a district-level Instructional Technology Facilitator, a college-level instructor, and a middle-level assistant principal. This is Dr. Watkins' second year at Chillicothe High School, where she teaches three courses: College Preparatory English, English 101, and English 102.
